Wenham, Mass. (April 25-26, 2025) – The men's and women's track and field programs were in Wenham, Massachusetts, on Friday and Saturday for their first CNE Championships in both programs' histories. The Golden Bears would see four student-athletes earn medals, and Ika Ogbonnanaze earned another Division III New England Championships qualifying mark. This time in the Discus Event. The men's team finished sixth, and the women's team finished seventh in both teams' first conference championships.

How it Happened:
In the field, the men's shot put event saw Ike Ogbonnanaze earn a medal. Ogbonnanaze threw a long mark of 13.47m. That mark placed Ogbonnanaze second in the event. Then, Ogbonnanaze threw a Division III New England Championships qualifying mark of 41.32m in the men's discus event. That mark was enough to earn Ogbonnanaze a third-place finish in the event. Kayla Kyles would earn WNE another medal in the women's long jump event. Kyles earned second place in the event with a long jump of 5.06m. Then, in the men's long jump, Steel Land placed fourth with a long jump of 5.97m, which Land was able to jump twice out of the five jumps given to the long jumpers. The next event that saw a WNE student athlete place was the men's javelin event. Dominick Burack placed eighth with a throw of 43.11m on attempt number 1. In a field event, Nolan Palmer also placed top eight for the Golden Bears. Palmer earned sixth place with a jump of 1.85m. The women's and men's triple jump events saw four Golden Bears place. Two in each event. In the women's triple jump, Kayla Kyles earned another medal with a third-place finish in the event. Kyles jumped a long mark of 10.19m. Imani Brown-Taylor followed with a fourth-place finish in the event with a jump of 9.99m on jump number one. The men's triple jump event saw Dennis Kotee place fifth in the event with a jump of 12.83 on Kotee's fifth and final jump. Then, Steel Land placed seventh in the men's triple jump with a 12.10m jump on Land's fourth attempt. The field events shined on Friday and Saturday for the Golden Bears, with ten placements in 16 events.
The Golden Bears saw success on the track as well. It starts with the men's 3000m steeplechase event. Joshua Farrell placed sixth in the event for the Golden Bears. Farrell earned a time of 10:38.83 in that event. Then, the women's 4x100m race saw the relay team of Imani Brown-Taylor, Fallon Lynch, Gabrielle Minuti, and Kayla Kyles place fifth in the event with a final time of 53.22. The men's 4x100m event saw WNE's team of Jason Pratt, De'Andre Harris, Aiden Cooney, and Amari Blake placed seventh in the race to earn more points for the team. Matt Provost then placed eighth in the 1,500m race with a time of 4:20.42. Nolan Moore followed Provost by placing seventh in the 110m hurdles for the Golden Bears with a time of 16.25. The race after that was the 400m dash, and that saw another medal for a Golden Bear student-athlete. It was Jordie Morgan who ran a time of 51.09 and placed third in the event. The women's 100m dash followed, and Kayla Kyles placed in the top eight and earned another point for the Golden Bears. Kyles placed eighth with a time of 13.57. Nicholas Smith followed and was the next Golden Bear to place. Smith ran the men's 800m race in 2:00.68 to place sixth in the event. Then, in the men's 400m hurdles, the Golden Bears saw two runners place. Nolan Palmer placed fourth with a time of 57.20, and Jack Straut placed sixth in the 400m hurdles with a 58.47. The men's 200m dash saw Jordie Morgan placed sixth for the Golden Bears with a time of 22.96 after the 400m hurdles. The final two races that saw the Golden Bears place in were the women's and men's 4x400m relays. The women's 4x400m race saw the team of Fallon Lynch, Gabrielle Minuti, Alyssa Clemence, and Lauren Vossler placed eighth in the race with a time of 4:51.05. Then, the men's 4x400m relay team of Nolan Palmer, Nicholas Smith, Aiden Cooney, and Jordie Morgan placed fourth to conclude the first-ever conference championship for the men's and women's track and field teams. The women's team placed seventh, and the men's team placed sixth.
