SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 29, 2025) – The Western New England baseball team has earned postseason honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), receiving the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for the third straight year.
The ABCA has honored nearly 750 high school and college programs nationwide this season. The award honors ABCA member teams and institutions from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.
The minimum requirements to receive ABCA honors include the following:
- Must be a high school or college team
- Head coach must be a current ABCA member
- Team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.0 for the 2024-25 academic year.
Western New England baseball earns the award for the third straight season, after receiving honors in 2022-23, 2023-24, and now 2024-25. With the addition of Johnson & Wales University to the Conference of New England, the conference saw five total institutions receive honors (Endicott College, Johnson & Wales University, Suffolk University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Western New England University).
The Golden Bears finished their 2025 season with a 22-20 record overall, going 8-8 in conference play.
