SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 14, 2026) – Two members of the Western New England men's lacrosse team have received weekly award honors from the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA), being named to the NEILA Team of the Week, announced by the organization today.
Sophomore
Logan Jenkins earns honors for the first time in his career after a standout week that led to a pair of Conference of New England victories for the Golden Bears last week. Jenkins opened the week by scoring four times while adding an assist in a 14-13 overtime victory over the University of Hartford. Jenkins collected five points, taking nine shots, putting five on goal, and had the game-winning goal in the victory. To add to his successful week, the Preston, Connecticut, native came away with three more goals and an assist in a 12-4 win over Nichols College. Jenkins came away with six shots, putting four shots on goal, and came up with two ground balls in the game. Jenkins finished off the week with nine total points and is up to 30 points on the year.
Junior goalkeeper
Jeffrey Wojtowicz spearheaded the Golden Bears between the pipes this past week, coming away with double-digit saves in both wins in CNE play. Wojtowicz opened the week with 11 saves in a 14-13 overtime win over Hartford, holding the Hawks to just two goals over the final 16 minutes of play in the game to help Western New England. In a road CNE contest this past weekend, the Shelton, Connecticut, native made 19 saves against the Bison of Nichols College, holding Nichols to just four goals in the game, matching his lowest total of goals given up this season, while his 19 saves were the most in his career in a single game.
The Western New England men's lacrosse team will take on Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday, April 14, at 7:00 PM, looking to remain perfect in conference action on the year.
