SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 21, 2026) – A first-time award winner highlights the Conference of New England's (CNE) Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards for the Golden Bears, and his name is
Levi Kelly-Smith. Kelly-Smith has been named the CNE's Specialist of the Week for the week of contests starting on April 13, 2026.
The Golden Bears were looking for assistance at the faceoff spot with their usual faceoff specialist out of the lineup.
Levi Kelly-Smith came to the rescue for WNE's men's lacrosse program in a big way. Last week, the junior faceoff specialist from Dalton, Massachusetts, lost only ten faceoffs all week. That includes two games where he won 27 of a possible 37 faceoffs. Kelly-Smith was responsible for scooping up 11 ground balls and would help the offense by taking a shot on goal during their second game of the week, at Curry College. Kelly-Smith stepped up when his team needed him to and has been recognized for his outstanding week of work with the conference's Men's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week Award.
The team and Kelly-Smith will host their final regular-season game of the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 7:00 PM, in Golden Bear Stadium. They will take on the Gulls of Endicott College.
