SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 10, 2026) – Six members of the Western New England men's lacrosse team sported the Blue and Gold at last weekend's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Senior All-Star Game, hosted at Trinity College. All six Golden Bears represented the NEILA West squad.
The contest featured 43 student-athletes across Divisions I, II, and III, held on Friday, June 5. All players were nominated by head coaches within the NEILA. Players were ranked and selected by a committee, recognizing seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played lacrosse in the New England region.
The six Golden Bears who attended last Friday night's game included
Thomas Labbe,
Jacob Roy,
Kai McDonald,
Jack Gara,
Connor Callahan, and
TJ Dalicandro. The six representatives are the most in a single NEILA Senior All-Star Game in program history, breaking the previous high of five from the 2011 season.
Labbe played in 78 games for Western New England over his four-year career, making 19 starts. The Brunswick, Maine, native finished his career with 79 goals, 26 assists, and 105 points for the Golden Bears in his career, taking 282 shots, putting 164 on goal. Labbe scored three game-winning goals in his career, including one in 2026, in the CNE Semifinals. Labbe picked up 77 ground balls and caused 12 career turnovers.
Roy was a consistent offensive threat for the Blue and Gold in his four seasons, playing in 69 games, making 31 starts. Over his games played, the Brookline, New Hampshire, native scored 116 goals, while picking up 52 assists, including a career-high 35 during his senior season. Roy picked up 404 shots, putting 214 on goal, scoring three game-winning goals and nine goals while a player up. In total, Roy tallied 73 ground balls and caused seven turnovers on the defensive end.
McDonald was a steady presence for Western New England men's lacrosse on defense over his four seasons, competing in 72 games, making 48 starts. McDonald caused 34 turnovers for Western New England, including a career-high 11 twice, his first and last seasons in Blue and Gold. McDonald picked up an exceptional 150 ground balls in his career, totaling 63 in 2026. The Dracut, Massachusetts, native scored one career goal, coming during his junior campaign in a win over Curry College.
Gara was also a mainstay for the Golden Bears on the back line, competing in 76 games, making 70 starts. Gara totaled 175 career ground balls, including 69 during his first season in Blue and Gold. The Madison, Connecticut, native recorded 76 caused turnovers, averaging one caused turnover per game played. Gara also scored one career goal, coming during the 2026 season in a road Conference of New England (CNE) victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Callahan established himself as one of the top short stick defensive midfielders in the CNE, earning an All-Conference nod following the 2026 season. Callahan played in 62 games for Western New England over his four-year career, making 12 starts, scoring four goals, and adding an assist. Defensively, Callahan stymied opponents, collecting 23 caused turnovers and picking up 71 ground balls, including 26 during his senior campaign.
Dalicandro was the only five-year member of the WNE men's lacrosse team this season, having played in 78 games, making 33 starts overall. Dalicandro had a breakout graduate year for the Golden Bears, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists, good for 17 total points. Dalicandro also helped Western New England defensively, picking up 39 caused turnovers and 132 ground balls in his career. Dalicandro finished his career with 16 goals, 10 assists, and 26 points.

th conference title in program history this past season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 13
th time overall after defeating Endicott College 10-7 in the CNE Championship game, earning a trip to the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in a game at SUNY Cortland.
