AMHERST, Mass. â€" No. 12 Amherst College broke open a close game by scoring six goals in the third period en route to a 13-7 victory over hardworking Western New England College.

WNEC (8-5) trailed 4-3 in the second quarter before the Lord Jeffs scored twice to take a 6-3 half-time advantage. Amherst outscored Western New England College 6-2 in the decisive third stanza to improve its record to 7-2.

Freshman Adam Cherry (Westfield, MA) led the Golden Bears with a career high four goals while junior CJ Annunciata (Waltham, MA) had another solid effort with three assists.
