SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Western New England College played one of its best games of the season, but came up on the short end of a 12-11 decision at No. 9 Springfield College in the championship game of the 2004 Pilgrim League Tournament held at SC's Benedum Field.
Senior Marco Le Gette (Severna Park, MD) led the Golden Bears with three goals and two assists while junior Patrick Matthews (Middle Island, NY) also scored three times.
Freshman Adam Cherry (Westfield, MA) added two goals and three assists while junior CJ Annunciata (Waltham, MA) had two goals and an assist.
Freshman Matt Pendelbury (North Hunterdon, NJ) made 22 saves in a solid performance.
