NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Playing not too far from his hometown, junior Joe Cassani (Barre, VT) scored three goals and had an assist to lead Western New England College to an easy 18-2 victory in the rain Wednesday over Norwich University in a Pilgrim League contest.

Twelve players hit the scoring column for the Golden Bears who improved their record to 10-5 overall and 6-1 in the league.

Sophomores Adam Cherry (Westfield, MA) and Zach Sondrini (Pittsfield, MA), and freshmen Gary Schuldt (Yorktown Heights, NY) and Tim Woodford (Southborough, MA) each scored twice.

Western New England College led 4-1 after the first quarter and 11-2 at intermission. The Golden Bears' defense again was outstanding holding the Cadets scoreless for the final 45 minutes, 52 seconds.
