SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 1, 2026) – Western New England men's lacrosse senior
Chris Catuosco has racked up another award this week, being named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (USILA) Team of the Week, recognizing ten players from across NCAA Division III on a weekly basis.
Catuosco was a huge part of a pair of wins last week for the Golden Bears, both coming in Conference of New England play. The faceoff specialist opened the week by picking up 12 faceoff wins on 15 attempts in an 11-4 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology. Catuosco picked up eight ground balls in the victory to help start the WNE offensive attack in the win. The Commack, New York, native was even more impressive in a weekend victory over the University of New England, winning 18 of 22 faceoffs, scooping 18 ground balls in the win. The senior also caused a turnover and took one shot on goal in the 10-8 comeback victory.
For the week, Catuosco picked up 25 ground balls, won 30 of 37 faceoffs, and caused a turnover, helping the Golden Bears stay perfect in CNE play. Though not counting toward this award, Catuosco was equally as impressive in last night's blowout victory at Gordon College, coming away with 15 faceoff wins over 19 attempts, picking up seven ground balls, and taking one shot on goal.
The Western New England men's lacrosse team returns home this Friday night, April 3, at 7:00 PM, hosting Roger Williams University in CNE action.
