BOSTON, Mass. - Winning on the road is always sweet, especially when it's against a conference opponent.
The Western New England College women's tennis team kept its unbeaten streak intact in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with an exciting 5-4 victory over Emmanuel Saturday afternoon (Oct. 7).
Highlights included a big win by senior Kristyn Villany (Red Bank, NJ) over Rachel Strauss 6-3, 7-6 at the number two singles spot.
The Golden Bears secured the victory when the number two doubles squad of freshman Kristen Ayers (Acton, MA) and sophomore Ashley Sunderland (Commack, NY) defeated Nory Hayes and Jamie Silva8-3.
Western New England College is now 9-1 overall after capturing its ninth consecutive match and 6-0 in the GNAC.
