NORTON, Mass. â€" No. 17 Western New England College used a balanced scoring as seven players scored goals in a 10-5 victory over Wheaton in the Pilgrim League men's lacrosse opener for both teams Saturday.

The Golden Bears, who bounced back from a 13-5 loss at No. 8 Wesleyan on Wednesday, led only 6-5 after three periods before scoring four goals in the final stanza while holding the Lyons scoreless.

Senior Joe Cassani (Barre, VT) and juniors Adam Cherry (Westfield, MA) and Zack Sondrini (Pittsfield, MA) each scores two goals. Sophomore Mike Kelly (Cheshire, CT) added a goal and two assists.

Sophomore Bryan Cofrin (Londonderry, NH) contributed four assists as Western New England College improved to 5-1 after playing its sixth straight away contest.
