SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Sophomore Bryan Cofrin (Londonderry, NH) scored seven goals and had an assist as visiting Western New England College rolled to an easy 17-3 victory over Union in the men's lacrosse opener for both teams Saturday at Frank Bailey Field.

Junior Adam Cherry (Westfield, MA) added four goals and two assists while senior Joe Cassani (Barre, VT) contributed three goals and three assists.

Scoring their first collegiate goals were freshmen Chuck Cartelli (Yorktown Heights, NY) and Keith Radcliffe (Yorktown Heights, NY) who were teammates at Yorktown High School.

The Golden Bears led 4-2 after the opening period and 7-2 at half-time before breaking the contest open with seven unanswered goals in the third period.

Western New England College outshot Union by a 61-15 margin.
