MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Western New England College baseball team started a long eight-game road trip with a 6-0 win over Wesleyan Thursday in a non conference game.

Freshman Jason Pizzoferrato (Windsor, CT) went the first seven innings allowing only two hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts to improve to 3-1.

Junior first baseman Tom Horgan (Westfield, MA) went 3-for-4 while sophomore desingated hitter Travis Schwamb (West Springfield, MA) was 2-for-5.

The Golden Bears scored three runs in the top of the first highlighted by a two-run double Schwamb that was followed by a RBI single by Horgan.

Western New England College has a 16-5 record after winning its fourth consecutive contest.
