Western New England College wins several close matches to defeat Emerson

WEYMOUTH, Mass. –The Western New England College women's tennis team won several close matches to earn an 8-1 non conference victory over Emerson College Wednesday night (Oct. 10) at the Weymouth Club.

Sophomore Kristen Ayers (Acton, MA) took her No. 2 singles match by the score of 6-1, 1-6, and 6-4, and teamed with senior Sara Peck (Monroe, CT) for s 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles.

Junior Nicole Freed (Jersey Shore, PA) also won both the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles matches.

Western New England College improves its record to 9-4 after winning for the fifth time in its last six events.

The Golden Bears close out their regular season against Curry College on Saturday (Oct. 13) during Family & Friends Weekend.
