WORCESTER, Mass. - The Western New England College men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten with a solid 14-6 victory over host Clark University Wednesday night (April 11) in a Pilgrim League game at Granger Field.
The Golden Bears, ranked fifth nationally in the USILA Division III poll, are 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the league.
Western New England College jumped to a 3-0 lead after the opening period and led 8-1 at intermission.
Seniors Ryan LaChance (Brunswick, ME) and Brian Praetorius (Saugerties, NY), and junior Travis Brown (Montpelier, VT) each scored twice for the visitors. Junior Nick Coppola (Old Brookville, NY) and sophomore Mike Welsch (Yorktown Heights, NY) each added a goal and assist. Junior Travis Brown (Montpelier, VT) won 14-of-18 face-offs.
Clark (4-5, 0-4 Pilgrim) cut the margin to 9-5 after three quarters before the Golden Bears pulled away with four consecutive goals.
Matt Fram (Methuen, MA) led the Cougars with two goals and two assists while Tyler Campbell (Portland, OR) compiled a career high 22 saves.
