SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior Brody Savoie (Wilbraham, MA) scored four goal with an assist as the Western New England College men's lacrosse team rolled to an easy 19-3 victory over visiting Curry Saturday (Apr. 5) to remain undefeated in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

The Golden Bears, ranked 14th nationally in the USILA Division III poll, raised their record to 6-3 overall and 5-0 in the conference during their Senior Day contest.

Senior Mike Kelly (Cheshire, CT) netted three goals with three assists while senior Jon Hayes (Waltham, MA) and freshman Joe O'Keefe (Branford, CT) each contributed three goals and two assists. Senior Bryan Cofrin (Londonderry, NH) added a pair of goals and assists.

Freshman goalies Ben Barlow (Newport, CT) played the first three periods and allowed only two goals while stopping four shots in earning his second win of the season. Classmate Jake Katz (Somersworth, NH) made six saves in the final stanza.

WNEC led 2-0 before sophomore Paul Marchese (East Longmeadow, MA) scored on the Colonel' first shot of the game at the 12:43 mark. Hayes gave the Golden Bears another two-goal lead before sophomore Rob Gardner (North Quincy, MA) pulled Curry within one with 8:28 remaining in the period.

Western New England College then scored 15 unanswered goals in taking a 6-2 lead after the opening quarter, an 11-2 edge at half-time, and 17-2 advantage after three periods.

Senior Alex MacMillan (Framingham, MA) played the first three quarters for the Colonels (5-5, 1-4 TCCC) and finished with 17 saves, including several nice point-blank stops.
