Box Score MILTON, Mass. - Thirteen players scored goals as the Western New England College men's lacrosse team opened play in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with a convincing 19-4 victory over Curry Wednesday (March 25).
This was the fourth consecutive win for the Golden Bears (4-1) who are ranked 10th nationally.
Playing before his hometown fans, freshman Pat White (Milton, MA) scored three goals as did senior Brody Savoie (Wilbraham, MA) and freshman William Mason (Southborough, MA).
Freshman Tajh Russell (Agawam, MA) added his first college goal and a pair of assists.
Sophomore Colin Houlihan (Yorktown Heights, NY) contributed his first goal of the season along with an assist.
Senior Derek Mantey (Waltham, MA) and junior Nick Zaleski (Somers, CT) picked-up five ground balls apiece.
Freshman goalie Brewster Knowlton (Somers, CT) played the first half and made seven saves.
Sophomores Ben Barlow (Newport, RI) and Jake Katz (Somersworth, NH) each stopped three shots in the third and fourth periods, respectively.
Curry (1-5, 0-2 TCCC) received two goals from sophomore John O'Donnell (Middleton, MA) while junior Paul Marchese (East Longmeadow, MA) had a goal and assist.
