Box Score DUDLEY, Mass. – The Western New England College men's lacrosse team defeated Nichols 19-6 to clinch the regular season conference title Tuesday evening (April 21) at rain-soaked Vendetti Field.
The Golden Bears, ranked 12th nationally, improved their record to 11-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).
Senior Brody Savoie (Wilbraham, MA) led the visitors with three goals while senior Scott Kukis (Sudbury, MA) and freshman Chris Titi (Acton, MA) each had two goals and an assist. Titi also scooped-up five ground balls.
Senior Dana Clancy (Kennebunk, ME), and sophomore Marty O'Brien (West Springfield, MA) and Mike Santare (South Salem, NY) each contributed two goals apiece.
Freshman Joe Martin (Springfield, MA) won 10-of-13 faceoffs and compiled eight ground balls along with Santye.
Freshman Tyler Tannock (Barrington, RI) took four-of-faceoffs and also picked-up five ground balls.
Nichols received a game-high five goals from sophomore Brian Donnelly (Weymouth, MA).
The Bison drop to 4-8 overall and 1-6 in the conference.
Western New England College hosts city rival Springfield at 4:00 p.m. Friday (April 24) and wraps up its regular season with a conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m. Saturday (April 25) at Wentworth.
