Marty O'Brien (West Springfield, MA) scored three goals and the Western New England men's lacrosse team used a quick start for a 12-7 victory over Nichols Wednesday evening (Apr. 6) at Vendetti Field.

Adam Knapton (Canandaigua, NY) each added two goals for the Golden Bears who remained unbeaten in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) at 6-0 while moving to 8-3 overall.

Corrigan Harreys (Deep River, CT) had a three-point outing with a goal and two assists. Junior midfielder
Patrick White (Milton, MA) contributed a goal and assist.
Western New England dominated the opening half, taking a 5-1 lead after the first period and 9-1 advantage at halftime.
Nichols staged a mild comeback by out-scoring the Golden Bears 5-3 in the third period after converting three man-up opportunities.

Bradley O'Brien (Danbury, CT) had two goals and an assist while sophomore attacker
Matthew Caufield (Fairfield, CT) also scored twice for the Bison. Sophomore attacker
Macauley Gillis (Northborough, MA) had a nice performance with a goal and four assists.
Western New England junior goalie
Brewster Knowlton (Somers, CT) finished with nine saves. Junior defender
Josh Tullis (Medford, NY) took 18-of-22 face offs and had a game-high eight ground balls. O'Brien picked-up seven ground balls to help give the visitors a 40-21 edge in that category.

Scott Gray (Annapolis, MD) made 18 stops for Nichols who is now 3-6 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
