ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Senior midfielder
Patrick White (Milton, MA) continued his terrific play with five goals, including two in the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference, as the Western New England men's lacrosse team posted an exciting 12-11 decision over Nazareth Saturday (March 17).
The Golden Bears are now 2-1 while the Golden Flyers fall to 2-3.
White's goal six seconds into the final period broke a 9-9 deadlock and his final score gave the Golden Bears a 12-10 advantage with 5:36 to play.
The teams traded leads in the opening half with Nazareth taking a 3-1 margin after the first quarter. WNE stormed back with six unanswered goals in a 2:14 stretch (including two by White) before senior attacker
C.J. Estes (Medfield, MA) scored his 100th career goal to break the run and get the hosts within 7-4 at intermission.
Nazareth battled back by outscoring WNE 5-2 in the third quarter to tie the contest.

Adam Knapton (Canandaigua, NY) gave the Golden Bears an 11-9 lead at the 12:05 mark before junior midfielder
Brian Wright (Franklin Lakes, NJ) cut the margin to one with 9:34 remaining.
White then fired in his decisive goal, with an assist from junior midfielder
Corey Johnson (Maybrook, NY), which proved pivotal when Wright scored with 1:16 left.
Patrick White, who had three goals in a 12-5 win over Trinity this past Wednesday, also had an assist for a six-point performance. Knapton finished with two goals while
Joe Martin (Springfield, MA) added a goal and assist. He also won 16-of-26 face-offs. Patrick Martin and Johnson each picked-up five ground balls. Senior goalie
