BEVERLY, Mass. – Freshman goalie
Brandon Body (Newtown, CT) compiled 12 saves and Western New England held Endicott to only one goal over the final 25 minutes, 26 seconds to claim an important 7-3 men's lacrosse victory Thursday evening (Apr. 19).
The Golden Bears, ranked 18th nationally, maintained their top position and remained unbeaten in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) with a 6-0 mark while improving to 9-3 overall.
Body, filling in for injured starter
Brewster Knowlton (Somers, CT), had six stops in the opening half and then turned away three shots in both the third and fourth periods to raise his record to 4-0.
There was a 2-2 tie after the opening stanza before senior attacker
Patrick White (Milton, MA) put the Golden Bears ahead for good with his 31st goal of the season at 10:57 of the second quarter.
Sophomore midfielder
Sean Lawton (Abington, MA) netted a goal at the 7:14 mark for a 4-2 advantage at the break.
Endicott got within one when junior midfielder
Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, ME) netted a goal at 12:06 of the third period. There was further scoring until White delivered a critical goal with one second left in the frame.

Corbett Corrigan Harreys (Essex, CT) added goals in the final fourth quarter, with assists from senior midfielder
Joe O'Keefe (Branford, CT), to complete the scoring.
Graduate student midfielder
Jon Thanas (Cumberland, RI) had a goal and assist for the defending CCC champion Gulls while senior midfielder
Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, CT) won eight-of-13 face-offs.
Junior goalie
Tom Burke (Sudbury, MA) made six saves in the first half before sophomore
Conley Cummings (Simsbury, CT) entered the game and turned away four shots in the second half.
Endicott dominated the final stats by having a 36-31 edge in shots and 35-22 advantage in ground balls.
