AUBURNDALE, Fla.--Western New England (No. 12 D3baseball.com, No. 16 ABCA/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper) concluded its annual spring break trip to a warmer climate on Thursday with a 7-5 loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater (No. 16 D3b, No. 28 ABCA/CBN) in a non-conference battle of nationally ranked squads at Lake Myrtle Park #2. The Golden Bears fall to 6-4 while the Warhawks (4-2) were competing in their first game at the RussMatt Invitational.

Tim Clark led Western New England at the plate by going 2-for-4.
Western New England held leads of 2-0 after the top of the first inning, but UWW responded with two runs of its own in the home-half. The Golden Bears reclaimed a 3-2 advantage in the next frame on a RBI-single by senior
Tom Booth.
The Warhawks went back on top to stay with three runs in the fourth for a 5-2 cushion.
After allowing two more runs in the seventh, Western New England made things interesting in the ninth when the first three batters reached base and scored twice. But the threat ended with a pair of strikeouts and forceout.
The Golden Bears outhit UWW 11 to 7.
