Adam Knapton recorded a team-high four points on a goal and three assists, but it wasn't enough as Western New England saw its five-game winning streak snapped at nationally No. 15-ranked Endicott, 20-6, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference men's lacrosse game at Endicott Stadium on Tuesday evening. The visiting Golden Bears fall to 6-7 overall and 5-1 in the CCC, while the Gulls improve to 11-3 on the season and 5-0 in the conference.

David Novitzky also found the back of the net for the Golden Bears, whose last lost was on March 25 to nationally-ranked Tufts on the road.
Harrison Cotter pumped in a game-high seven goals and scooped up nine ground balls for Endicott, which spurted to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Colin Bannon added six goals among a game-best nine points, and Jeremy Morgan led all student-athletes with five assists.
The Golden Bears, who boast the CCC's best man-up offense at 38.2 percent efficiency, converted on 2-of-6 chances compared to just 1-of-7 for the Gulls.
Face-off specialist Tommy Hughes was 16-of-28 at the "X" with 11 ground balls while both Western New England face-off men seniors
Alex Meschutt and
Jesse DeLucca were 6-of-14.
Gulls sophomore goalie Cameron Bell recorded his ninth game this season with double-digit saves and his third straight as he stopped 16 shots and had three ground balls. Junior
Brandon Body made 11 saves in the WNE net.
In a game in which Endicott led wire-to-wire, Western New England also wasn't able to overcome disadvantages in shots (40-55), shots on goal (31-22) and ground balls (46-28).
Senior
Trevor Scott led the Golden Bears with four ground balls, while sophomore
Drew Trebbe, Lawton and Meschutt contributed three apiece.
Western New England's next game is Saturday at University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, for a conference tilt at 4 p.m.
