Big Third Quarter Lifts Western New England to a 13-5 Rout at Roger Williams

Box Score BRISTOL, R.I.--Senior tri-captain Adam Knapton and classmate Justin McKinney each scored five points to lead a Western New England offense that exploded for six goals in the third quarter on the way to a convincing 13-5 victory at Roger Williams in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday evening. The No. 10 New England-ranked Golden Bears have won five consecutive games to improve to 6-6 on the season and 5-0 in the CCC, while the host Hawks fall to 10-3 and 3-2.

Seniors Sean Lawton (1 assist) and Colton Craig (3 goals) scored a pair of goals apiece to key the decisive third quarter in which WNE outscored RWU 6-1 to take an 11-5 lead into the final stanza.

Will Siefert and Nick Gagnon each scored twice and had an assist apiece for Roger Williams, and Alan Williams won 15 of 23 face-offs while scooping up a game-best 13 ground balls.

Juniors Dan McKenna and Garrett Mullins chipped in three and two points, respectively, for the Golden Bears offense which produced a slim 5-4 lead at halftime.

Junior goalie Brandon Body made 11 saves in the WNE net.

Second-place Western New England will play at first-place Endicott in a key CCC contest on Tuesday, beginning at 7 p.m.
