SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 10, 2021) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday when they fell to Endicott, 9-8, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Golden Bear Stadium.

Top Performers
Junior Noah Rust and junior Mike Bannon each scored two goals for the Golden Bears. Senior Nick Gamba and sophomore Ben Kolb each scored one goal and provided one assist.

Sam DesMarais scored two goals and dished out an assist for the Gulls. Seven players each scored a goal for Endicott.

Game Review
Endicott jumped out to an early 2-0 lead just over five minutes into the game. Gamba grabbed one back for the Golden Bears before the Gulls scored another to take a 3-1 lead into the second quarter. Endicott outscored Western New England 4-2 in the second quarter to take a 7-3 lead going into halftime.

The Golden Bears came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Gulls 5-0, including two from Rust, to take an 8-7 lead going into the final quarter. DesMarais scored his two in the final frame to give Endicott the lead and the win.
