SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 17, 2021) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse team defeated Curry 21-5 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Golden Bear Stadium.

Top Performers
Graduate student Nick Gamba scored four goals and dished out two assists for the Golden Bears. Senior Jared Newall and sophomore Brian Madden each scored three goals while junior Mike Bannon scored two goals and provided five assists.

Jack Dacey and Jake Stebbins each scored two goals for the Colonels.

Game Review
Western New England came out strong in the first quarter, outscoring Curry 8-0 including three goals from Madden, two goals from Gamba, and four assists from Bannon. Stebbins scored early in the second quarter to get Curry on the board. The Golden Bears got goals from Bannon, Gamba, and senior Conor Tracy in the second quarter to take an 11-3 lead into halftime.

In similar fashion to the first quarter, Western New England outscored the Colonels 7-0 in the third quarter, including two goals from Newall. After Curry scored two in the final frame, The Golden Bears scored another three goals, including one from senior Liam Baker in the final minute of play.
