Box Score BEVERLY, Mass. (May 8, 2021) – The Western New England University men's lacrosse team fell to Endicott, 9-4, in the CCC Championship at Hempstead Stadium in Beverly, Mass.
Top Performers
Graduate Student Nick Gamba, seniors Matt Greer and Jared Newall, and junior Noah Rust each scored for the Golden Bears. Gamba chipped in an assist. Senior Jack Seiter went 13-for-14 on faceoffs.
Jack Sutherland, Nick Pagluiso, and Sam Abate each scored two goals for the Gulls. John Koebel scored one goal and dished out two assists, while Jaden Elsinger provided two assists.
Game Review
Endicott opened the scoring midway through the first quarter after an unassisted goal from Abate. The Gulls extended their lead a few minutes later after Sutherland grabbed his first of the day. Sutherland scored his second early in the second quarter to put the Gulls up 3-0. Greer scored at the 4:32 mark in the second quarter to cut into the deficit before Endicott scored two more before halftime.
Abate scored the first goal of the second half for the Gulls, and the Goldne Bears responded through goals from Gamba and Rust, with junior Mike Bannon providing the assist on Gamba's goal. After Endicott scored three goals, Newall grabbed his goal in the final seconds off an assist from senior Brendan Lyons.
