Tanya Teneva, continue to receive national recognition on the NCAA Individual Rankings.

The Open Mat rankings of the year. The Golden Bears improved their overall ranking this week following an impressive showing at The New Standard Invitational at York College of Pennsylvania, where the Blue and Gold finished in first place out of 14 teams overall, claiming the team title for the second straight season. At the event, four Golden Bears overall won their individual weight classes, including
Maddie Ripley (117 lbs.),
Linda Holeman (124 lbs.),
Sky De Leon (145 lbs.), and
Atiyana Williams (180 lbs.), while 12 overall picked up top-six finishes.
Ripley continues her ranked status this week, sitting at 18
th overall in the 117 lb. weight class. Ripley came up with a first-place finish at The New Standard Invitational last weekend, one of four Golden Bears to outright win their respective weight classes. Ripley opened the day with a bye victory before needing 18 seconds to
come up with a fall victory over Delaware Valley's Taylor Mazzoni. Ripley ripped through the quarterfinal round, needing just 11 seconds in the match to claim victory over The Apprentice School's Janla Anderson, winning another win via fall. Ripley then took care of Gisele Ramirez of York College, getting a fall victory in 59 seconds to get into the championship match of the weight class. There, Ripley took out Ithaca College's Delaney Bisaillon in 46 seconds, notching her fourth fall victory of the day to claim victory in the weight class.
Holeman was also a champion at last weekend's event, winning the 124 lb. weight class, moving up one spot to 12
th overall in the national rankings this week. Holeman took down Olivia Gill of Mount Union College in 1:22, taking a victory via fall to advance to the quarterfinals. Top-seeded Holeman needed just 36 seconds to drop New England College's Olivia Delegas to get to the semifinal match. In the semis, Holeman got a victory by superiority, a 10-0 score in 2:08 to advance to the championship bout of the 124 lb. weight class. The finals saw Holeman fall behind early to Ursinus College's Kalli Roskos, but Holeman stormed back at the end of the first, taking a 6-2 lead and finishing off Roskos in the second period, getting a VPO victory, 8-4, claiming the top spot in the weight class.
In the 131 lb. weight class,
Jazmene Molina finished third overall and sits 19
th overall in
The Open Matindividual rankings this season. At this weekend's tournament, Molina opened as the top-seed, earning a bye to start, and moved into the round of 16 with a 10-0 victory, needing just 1:05 to come up with the win. Molina then entered the quarterfinals with a 10-0 win, this time in just 15 seconds, to advance to the semifinals. Molina fell via VPO in the semifinals to drop to the consolation semifinals, where the WNE junior took down teammate
Jaden Coppins to get into the third-place bout. There, Molina won a 3-0 match over Stacy Bloomfield of Ursinus College to come up with the third-place finish.
At 138 lbs.,
Tanya Teneva now sits 14
th in the nation in the new rankings this week after placing third in the weight class at The New Standard Invitational. After opening with a bye, Teneva, the second seed in the weight class, took out Mount Union's Ali Singleton on a 10-0 victory by superiority in just 1:44, getting into the quarterfinal round. Teneva pinned Makayla Bolinger of York College in the next match in just 52 seconds to make her way to the semifinals. The semifinal round was not as friendly to Teneva, who fell 14-9 to York's Maura White. In the consolation semifinals, Teneva picked up a close 8-6 victory over Paisley Fox of Ursinus College, advancing to the third-place bout, where the Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria native picked up a 10-2 VPO win to take third overall.
The Western New England women's wrestling team returns to the mat following the New Year, taking on the 2026 NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa for a two-day event on Friday, January 9, and Saturday, January 10.
