WNE Women's Tennis Serves Up Their 2025 Fall Schedule

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 18, 2025) – The Women's Tennis program at Western New England University has officially announced who they will take on and when next season. Their 2025 fall schedule includes twelve matches, including 10 Conference of New England matches throughout the season.

The Golden Bears will open their season with three consecutive Conference of New England matches. They will start the season at home on the Forest Park Tennis Courts in Springfield, Massachusetts. They will host Nichols College on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The Golden Bears are 2-19 since 2007 against the Bison and are seeking their first win since 2008. The team will then hit the road for two matches, taking on Curry College on Saturday, September 20, 2025. WNE has a 12-6 record versus the Colonels since 2007 and has won nine of the last ten matches. Then, it is a match in Beverly, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, for the squad. They will take on Endicott College in that match, with the Golden Bears looking for their first victory ever versus the Gulls in eighteen matches. They will be home the following day, though, as the team hosts their first of two nonconference matches of the season. They will host UMass-Dartmouth on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Springfield, Massachusetts. This will be the first time that the Golden Bears and Corsairs face off in recorded history. The blue and gold will take a day off before hosting their second CNE match of the season, with Roger Williams University traveling to town on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The Hawks are 25-1 versus WNE in the teams' recorded history, with WNE trying to get their first win since 2009 versus the Hawks. The first half of the fall season ends on Thursday, October 2, 2025, when the Golden Bears host Rhode Island College in their final nonconference clash of the season. This will be the first time the teams match up in their record histories.

The second half of the fall season starts with an away match on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts. The Rams and Golden Bears have played seven times since 2004, with WNE taking six of the seven matches. Last season, the Rams secured their first win, 5-2. The following Tuesday, October 7, 2025, WNE will host the Gordon College Fighting Scots, against whom they have a 6-15 record since 2007. The Golden Bears are looking for their first win since 2022. They will travel to West Hartford, Connecticut, a week later, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, to take on the University of Hartford Hawks for the first time in their recorded history. WNE's two final home contests will feature the University of New England on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Forest Park Tennis Courts before they host the University of Saint Joseph (Connecticut) on Monday, October 20, 2025. The Golden Bears will take on the Nor'Easters for the first time, with the University of New England's program starting up this year. All-time, WNE is 8-1 against the Blue Jays and looks to bounce back from their first loss against them this year. The final match of the regular season will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in New London, New Hampshire, as WNE takes on Colby-Sawyer College. This will be their fifth match since 2007 and first since 2010. The blue and gold look for their first win against Colby-Sawyer, with their last meeting being a 5-4 defeat in Springfield, Massachusetts.
