SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 23, 2026) – Western New England men's ice hockey sophomore Luca Scaglione has been named the final Conference of New England (CNE) Goalie of the Week, after leading the Golden Bears to an overtime victory in the final regular-season game of the year last Friday night. 

Scaglione picked up 47 saves in the last game of the season, Friday night, allowing just two goals in a 3-2 overtime victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology. Scaglione posted a 1.90 goals-against-average (GAA) for the game and a 0.959 save percentage, picking up his third victory of the season between the pipes.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native made 483 saves this season over 12 games played, while picking up a 3.53 GAA for the year. Scaglione finished 2025-2026 with a 0.925 save percentage, marking the best single-season save percentage in program history. 

The Golden Bears picked up six wins as a team this season, finishing with a record of 6-19-0.
