Schneider Named to 2026 CNE Community Service Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 4, 2026) – The Conference of New England (CNE) has announced the end-of-season awards, and a Golden Bear finds his way onto the conference's community service team for the first time in his career because of his giving to the community, not just on campus but also off it.
Everest Schneider has been named to the CNE Community Service Team. Schneider earns this award due to his work on and off campus. Schneider was named a captain of the WNE Men's Ice Hockey team prior to the season and helped lead the WNE athletics community through captain's council, which partners with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to bring events to WNE Athletics. Schneider also partners with the Holyoke Hockey Club, outside of campus, to help grow the sport of hockey in the local community. The senior forward led eight other members of WNE's Men's Hockey Team in partnering with Holyoke Hockey Club's "Learn to Play" program, where they helped give out hockey equipment to children in underprivileged areas who want to learn the game of hockey. Schneider and the team then skated with the young athletes to teach them the fundamentals of hockey.
Everest Schneider embodies what it means to be a Golden Bear on and off the ice every single day, and this award is recognition for everything he does to help his WNE and local community.
