Chris Beaudoin (Enfield, CT) fired in the game-winner with 1:22 remaining in overtime as the Western New England College men's hockey team defeated defending ECAC Northeast champion Curry 6-5 in the league opener for both squads Thursday night (Nov. 18) at Smead Arena.
The Golden Bears stayed unbeaten at 3-0-1 while the Colonels drop to 0-2-1.
Beaudoin finished with two goals and an assist as WNEC already matched its entire victory total from a year ago.
WNEC twice battled back from two-goal deficits to tie the game at 4-4 on goals by freshman forward
Chris Connors (Albany, NY) and Beaudoin at 12:33 of the third period.
Curry went ahead just 17 seconds later when junior forward
Josh Kamrass (Norcross, GA) tallied his second goal of the contest.

Each team scored a goal in the middle period as the Colonels led 3-2 after 40 minutes of action.
This was WNEC's second 6-5 overtime decision in four games after the Golden Bears downed Westfield State by the same score in the season opener November 7 at Smead Arena.
