SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 30, 2025) – Four members of the Western New England men's lacrosse team will participate in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's annual East-West All-Star Game on Friday night.
The four Golden Bears include four outstanding seniors,
Jack Houlden,
Zachary Mein,
Griffin LaRochelle, and
Ryan Quinlan. The four from WNE men's lacrosse are the most sent by the program since 2018, when four other former Golden Bears participated in the game.
Fifty-one players from Divisions I, II, and III will compete in this year's All-Star Game, which will be played on Friday, May 30 at 7:00 PM at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.

All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA. Players were then ranked and selected by a committee, awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region. This all-star game is the only one of its kind, being a regional all-star game which includes players from Divisions 1, 2, and 3.
Houlden led WNE this past season with 40 goals and 46 points overall on the year, taking 96 shots, putting 64 on goal. Two of Houlden's goals were game-winning goals this season while the Peabody, Massachusetts native scooped 36 ground balls and caused ten turnovers on the year.
Mein had an even split in his point distribution this season for the blue and gold, coming up with 12 goals and 12 assists, good for 24 points overall. Mein took 60 shots while throwing 38 total on frame. The Latham, New York native scooped up 12 ground balls and caused six of his own on the year.
LaRochelle was second on the team in points this season with 36 overall, which included 29 goals and seven assists. The senior led Western New England with 97 shots overall while putting 54 on frame. A team leading four of LaRochelle's 29 goals on the year came while a man-up. The Wilbraham, Massachusetts native came up with 13 ground balls and two caused turnovers on the season.
On the defensive side of the ball, Quinlan recorded a team-high 21 caused turnovers and scooped 41 ground balls on the season, which ranked third among Golden Bears overall. The University of Massachusetts Lowell transfer also chipped in two goals on the year for Western New England while taking five shots overall.
WNE men's lacrosse put together nine wins during their 2025 campaign and made it to the Conference of New England semifinals before bowing out to eventual champion Endicott College.
