Erin Whitcomb was a key member of the Western New England University softball team, earning countless accolades on and off the field. Whitcomb was named 2003 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Year and was also a GNAC Player of the Year later in her career which closed in 2006. Whitcomb was named to several All-Region teams during her time with the Golden Bears as well as multiple GNAC first-teams. Whitcomb's 165 hits rank ninth all-time in program history, while her .373 batting average currently sits eighth. Other on field accomplishments that sit in the WNE softball record books include tied-fourth in runs scored (129), seventh all time in on base percentage (.444), fifth all-time in doubles (37) and second all-time in triples (15). Whitcomb's 22 home runs sit on top of the Western New England University softball record books.  She also ranks second in slugging percentage with a .674 mark. Whitcomb, who passed away in 2020, is being recognized posthumously.
