Kyle Snurkowski ranks among the top pitchers in the history of the Western New England baseball program.

The hard-throwing right-hander compiled a 22-16 record with an impressive 3.27 earned-run-average during his four-year career.

Always counted on to pitch against the toughest opponents, Kyle established school marks for career wins (22), appearances (48), games started (38), complete games (25), shutouts (5), innings pitched (245), and strikeouts (257).

A native of Griswold, Connecticut, Kyle made the All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Team as a senior after leading the league in strikeouts per nine innings (9.57).

He led the Golden Bears to their first ever GNAC Tournament after complete game victories over Rivier (13 strikeouts in 8-3 victory) and Albertus Magnus (10 strikeouts in 7-4 win) in the championship game. This also was the team’s inaugural appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship.

As a junior, Kyle was the NCAA Division III leader with a 1.09 earned-run-average.  He also was a two-time recipient of the WNE Cy Young Award and a team captain.

When not pitching, Kyle played first base finishing with a respectable .275 batting average in 109 games.

Kyle now lives in Old Lyme, Connecticut with his wife Jamie (a 2002 WNE graduate) and sons Owen (5) and Tanner (3).
